Welcome to Buffalo Tipi Trading Post
Buffalo Tipi Trading Post is a locally owned and operated shop in Hardin, Montana, just a few miles from the Apsáalooke (Crow) Indian Reservation and the historic Little Bighorn Battlefield. Our store is more than just a place to shop—it’s a space where culture, tradition, and craftsmanship come together.
The name Buffalo Hide Tipi comes from our owner, who specializes in crafting custom buffalo hide tipis, a tradition deeply rooted in Native heritage. Just as these handcrafted tipis represent strength, resilience, and culture, our store is dedicated to preserving and sharing authentic Indigenous artistry.
We specialize in Native American beadwork, jewelry, art, and handmade crafts, with many items created by local Indigenous artists. Every piece in our store tells a story, reflecting the artistry, skill, and traditions that have been passed down through generations. Whether you’re looking for a unique gift, a meaningful keepsake, or a custom-made item, we are here to help you find something special.
At Buffalo Tipi Trading Post, we believe in supporting Native artisans and sharing the beauty of Indigenous craftsmanship with the world. Whether you're a local community member or a traveler exploring the rich history of this region, we welcome you to stop by and browse our collection of items.
Exciting things are ahead! In the near future, we are planning to expand our storefront to offer an even wider selection of products and create opportunities for local vendors to showcase their goods. This expansion will not only bring in more handmade crafts, art, and specialty items but will offer an even richer cultural experience for our customers. Stay tuned for updates as we grow and continue to serve our community!
